Big results from a first event
Dynamic Tech Media · Colorado School of Mines

John Himes had a vision: bring his team, clients, and the local tech community into one room.
As the founder of Dynamic Tech Media, a Colorado marketing agency, he was short on time and running his first-ever event. He secured a venue, then realized he needed help. That is where KLES came in.
A great idea, and no idea where to start
Dynamic Tech Media is a local-remote company. Most of their work happens digitally, so in-person relationships have to be intentional.
John knew he wanted to host, but the logistics, the messaging, and serving guests well, all at once, felt overwhelming.
Event planning and event tech, together
We started by aligning on goals and building a step-by-step plan.
Then we got to work. We refined the messaging, set up a web page and RSVP system, and even named the event the Dynamic Tech Meetup.
We sent the reminders, coordinated everything on the ground, and solved the surprises, like last-minute door staff, without missing a beat.
Guests got a complimentary headshot in exchange for a newsletter signup, drinks from the hosted bar, and craft beer in branded koozies.
“Kristen did a great job making sure everything stayed on track. Anytime I needed help, I knew I could send her a message or give her a call and she would take care of it.”

New business, and a stronger community
By the time the happy hour ended, the results had already started.
Two leads came over to shake John's hand and said they were looking forward to working together. A new connection reached out on social the next day.
A referral turned into a proposal that is now in the works. The headshot booth added about 20 contacts to the mailing list, and current clients left with a clearer picture of the team behind the work.
“People kept coming up to me saying it was one of the best networking events they'd ever been to. You can't quantify the buzz this event created.”
